Have Fun Learning Italian!
To all the parents out there, who are trying to raise bilingual children and may feel that they are struggling from time to time, your efforts are not in vain. You will get there. We can get there together!
How I work
What I have learned from my personal experience
Is for AMORE, ‘love’.
The love for languages, the love for our kids, the love for hearing our children communicate in all the languages! And then the love for the beautiful Italian culture, the love for the nonni...
What about you, what do you love?
Is for BIMBI, or BAMBINI, ‘children’.
The protagonists of our sessions, They bring their energy, their smiles and their voices to the classroom. All the activities are designed for them to have fun while learning Italian.
Is for COMUNICAZIONE, ‘communication’.
Languages are much more than a school subject, they are a tool for people to communicate with! My job is to provide a safe and fun environment for them to experiment with the Italian language.
Why should you take your kids to Buongiorno Bimbi?
- Because kids learn languages (and many more things) very easily at a young age!
- Because it supports your efforts to raise bilingual children.
- Because it is a great exercise for their brains.
- Because, by learning to manage two language systems, children become aware that there is not only one way to say – and to see – things. This is foundational to raise global citizens who appreciate, value and respect diversity.
- Because it reinforces and normalises a family language (or a foreign language, if you don’t have Italian heritage).
- Because they will likely have an advantage when developing their literacy skills.
- Because one day they might want to travel to Italy, maybe with you!
- Because you will see tears of joy welling up in the nonni’s eyes, when they hear the little ones talk some Italian to them.

Who I am
Hi, I’m Agnese, an Italian born linguist living in Australia
After about a decade in academia, I realised that raising bilingual children has become the new version of my passion for languages. It’s an exciting journey, full of surprises! I discovered that sharing our bilingual journey with other local families has multiple benefits: friendships form, opportunities to speak Italian increase, the language is normalised outside the home, the culture is passed on.
In 2025, I started my own business, Buongiorno Bimbi, offering Italian classes to kids in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
Parents and guardians can actively support the children’s learning by using the classroom resources at home, especially songs, and communicating with them in Italian as much as possible. I look forward to having you on board, children and families!

My communicative approach focuses on using the language with and among the children as much as possible. Through play, songs, games and arts & crafts activities, the children will be fully immersed in the Italian language. They will see, hear, respond, do, experience, recognise, repeat and, gradually, they will start speaking the language, largely by imitation.
It is fundamental that their learning is supported at home. Read ‘What is needed’ below to find out how.
All you need to do is rock up with your child(ren) and bring your best motivation to speak Italian yourself! Did you know that role modelling is one of the most effective ways to teach children? Your probably did J Be ready to be fully immersed and play in Italian with your child.
Classes are booked on a casual basis, but regularity of attendance certainly helps, if you, like me, want to raise bilingual children. You are also strongly encouraged to support your children’s learning at home too, by: speaking to them in Italian as much as possible (even if you are a learner yourself!), reading Italian kids books, playing Italian kids songs, playing Italian cartoons, video-calling Italian speaking dear ones living in Italy, hanging out with local Italian-speaking families.
